Following our recent experience at the French Grand Prix our expectations were low and are hope for better was high. As we descended on Spielberg it was quickly obvious that the camp ground was significantly better equipped although still lacking consistent hot showers. All the other facilities seemed good and there was plenty of entertainment for the drinkers and music lovers.

The temperature remained in the late thirties the whole time we were there. It did eventually drop below 30 at about 5am one morning - but the heat was quite oppressive.

The race was better too. Although it was a shame not to see lewis Hamilton on top of the podium, it was great to see the young drivers of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc up there receiving the trophies.

It was a much better experience of F1, but still, I’m not sure I will do another one any time soon.

I was pleased once we were on the road as I found it all hot, tiring and stressful. I was pleased that the two GP’s were done - but sad because it meant that our daughter and boyfriend would be flying home soon.
