Sunday Drive - Pen Y Fan
So we had planned to be doing the NC500 from Friday for 2 1/2 weeks or so, but it would seem that storm Gareth had other ideas.
In order to make the best of the sunshine that we awoke to, we decided to take the car for a drive through mid-Wales' famous Brecon Beacons great driving roads. We drove up through from Cardiff to Builth Wells. On the return leg we decided that it would be a great idea to walk Pen Y Fan whilst we were so close.
Our driving route.
The weather, again, played it's part, as it was snowing fromt he time we parked the car to the moment that we returned to the warm. The winds were howling, the snow was like a blizzard and the tempatures were barely over freezing - all-in-all it was an 'experience' to say the least. The only thing that got us to the top was pure grit and determination.

Sadly, there were little opportunities to see the famous views let alone capture the landscape through the lens. So I managed to take the camera up the mountain and not get it out of it's case. The pictures are all taken from our phones.
Our selfie picture on the route up - you'll just have to believe us.
Still, we had a great day and ticked 2 bucket list items off ... driving the great roads through mid-Wales AND climbed Pen Y Fan.
It's all part of the adventure.
